Target looks to cut bureaucracy

Target (TGT) CEO John Mulligan has moved the entire leadership team of the retailer to the 26th floor of its headquarters in an effort to become more efficient.

Mulligan has also instituted other measure to speed up the decision-making process and reduce bureaucracy.

The company holds its annual meeting of shareholders today in Dallas.

    A flatter organization is more efficient but it takes the right people for it to work. Let's hope he hasn't bitten off more than he can chew.

    Its not speed at the top that they need it is speed at the buying level to reorder best sellers and jump on new trends.

    And how exactly is moving to another floor speeding up decision making? The elevator takes how many seconds to get there? Just kidding, but why on earth would you spread your inner circle over several floors in the first place?

    Target could just stay put... and could managed to operate efficiently by simply let go of any staffs who are not productive.
