Caution on Wal-Mart as the focus turns to e-commerce

UBS removes Wal-Mart (WMT -0.2%) from its Most Preferred List.

The ratings action follows a general trend of caution on the Bentonville giant from Wall Street firms.

Wal-Mart's U.S. same-store sales have decreased for five quarters in a row which has increased the importance of growing the e-commerce business. Last year, the company reported online sales of $10B.

You know what that means - the stock is probably close (or at) an attractive point for people who plan on owning the stock for more than six months (sometimes called "investors").

Last I read Walmart's online business was growing faster than Amazon's.

People that shop at Walmart almost always SHOP at Walmart.
They have a loyal following and that's not going to change anytime soon.

Made my first ever purchases just recently.
Bought online, pay with PayPal, pick-up at store.

Flawless execution, unbelievable prices, name brand merchandise, nice/helpful people.

Local small biz competitors gotta be worried.

Lots of Range Rovers and Mercedes in the parking lot.

Exactly. Apple didn't break down and start selling IPhones and IPads in Wal-mart stores several years ago for nothing.
