Cadillac's third U.S. sales chief in two years leaves GM

  • GM's Cadillac brand suffers another leadership hit after U.S. VP for sales and service Bill Peffer resigns suddenly from his position "to pursue other interests."
  • Peffer was picked by Bob Ferguson, senior VP of global Cadillac, who has been spending much of his time lately in D.C. helping to guide GM's response to its ignition switch recall; through May, Cadillac sales had slipped 2% YTD, well off the pace to hit Ferguson's 2014 forecast for at least 10% U.S. sales growth.
  • Kurt McNeil, GM's VP of U.S. sales operations, will temporarily assume Peffer's position; McNeil had previously served in the Cadillac post in 2011-12.
