Union of Spam and Muscle Milk raises eyebrows

Hormel's (HRL) purchase of CytoSport for $450M has raised a few eyebrows in the food sector.

The high price tag for the maker of Muscle Milk indicates some other bidders were on the prowl for a quick entry into the sports nutrition category, theorize analysts.

Shares of Vitamin Shoppe (VSI) and GNC Holdings (GNC) are on watch.

Which has me thinking MNST has been selling out of Muscle Monster so is this being priced into the stock? Heck if Hormel is willing to pay $450 million with other bidders than what is Muscle Monster worth with better distribution?

MSLP has been on a heck of a ride the past few month. Should have bought in when it was around $7.50.....now selling ^$12.
