RGS Energy -10% on private equity offering

  • RGS Energy (RGSE) -9.8% premarket after announcing a ~$7M private placement.
  • RGSE will issue units consisting of an aggregate of ~2.9M shares of its Class A common stock and warrants to purchase up to ~1.3M additional common shares, at $2.40/unit.
  • Proceeds will be used toward the launch of the company's residential leasing platform and for general working capital purposes, including debt repayment.

    I really do not understand this management. By offering the share + warrant package at a price considerably lower than current share price it brings big losses to its current shareholders without gaining anything. This is not a shareholder friendly politics at all.

    Well, at least a short term shareholder setback. But then again, you should not invest in @RGSE for the short term, but for the long term. That goes for all solar stocks. Long term is 1 year.

    Nope. But it depends on your situation. I sold half when I hit double returns so I'd get back my initial investment and plan on leaving the remaining amount until they either pop like SolarCity or bust and go bankrupt. For me this is a speculation stock and not an investment stock so I'm pretty comfortable holding through the volatility.
