Gulf Keystone promotes Gerstenlauer as permanent CEO

Gulf Keystone Petroleum (OTCPK:GUKYF, OTCQX:GFKSY) names former COO John Gerstenlauer as its new CEO after serving as interim CEO since replacing Todd Kozel last month.

Kozel was expected to remain as an executive director on the board, but he has turned it down; he will remain as an officer but the specifics of the job are not clear.

Professional and Institutional Investors have tired of Todd Kozel's antics and shameless self enrichment and finally forced him out. Kozel even as an advisor could be viewed by many as a liability but it is a gesture of good faith to the KRG.
Kudos to Simon Murray for making the best of a tricky situation. As GKP gets better management, improves corporate governance and finally actually achieve the targets it sets out, the share price will improve from these ridiculous levels.
However, for a company with one of the largest discoveries in the world it really needs to move key management from London to Kurdistan.
