Plug Power adds to gains as Japan reveals fuel cell vehicle subsidies

  • Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) finished 10% higher on the session, apparently boosted late by Japan Prime Minister Abe's plan to provide at least ¥2M (~$19,550) in subsidies for every purchase of a fuel cell vehicle.
  • The environmentally friendly cars are more expensive than conventional autos - Toyota's (NYSE:TM) model will cost ~¥7M - which led Abe to decide government support was necessary to encourage buyers.
  • Earlier: Plug Power +3% after Roth Capital says outlook has improved.

You know what? Who know anymore with this stock? The manipulation and movement inconsistencies are unexplainable. For all we know someone at PLUG headquarters farted too loud and that made the stock go up

Follow the stock and all of the stories rather than what a commentor says.

This company has turned around, it is a good investment at the current price to develop into a major company with a niche product in a very large niche with many opportunities to develop new niches..

That said, this Japanese news has NOTHING to do with PLUG. The news relates to the fuel cell company who is supplying the fuel cell to Toyota...maybe in house.

If it was Germany, it would be for BLDP who has a major contract with VW.

It is no doubt that Plug is a gamble. Not for a faint of heart!
If losing 100K is not a problem for you then you should buy it in hope to make 1 million in 1 year. Otherwise, you should stay with gasoline powered forklifts.

You have to be smart and play the support and resistance levels. You have to use stops on PLUG unless you can devote 100% of your day to watching the price action. If you watch volume, support and resistance then you will be fine.

You'll never be fine with this stock as the losers will keep writing nasty things about it and the shorts will keep shorting.Even the news makes no sense on the stock price. As for the japanese auto maker thats subin fuel cells than BLDP would be a better bet than PLUG after all they make them PLUG buys theirs from BLDP.So what gain does PLUG get out of that?
