Herb Greenberg sees a contradiction at Herbalife (HLF -1.9%) after hearing the company tout its army of doctors and scientists doing research "around the clock" to develop new products and noting that the firm's 10-K lists research and development costs as not material. He sees Herbalife as closer to a multi-level marketing company, than the multi-national food and personal care company it calls itself.
