Russia takes aim at McDonald's as ties with U.S. worsen

  • Russia's consumer safety regulator files a lawsuit seeking to ban some of McDonald's (MCD +0.3%) menu items, claiming it had uncovered traces of E.coli bacteria in some Caesar wraps and salads and saying the company is deceiving consumers about the nutritional value of some of its burgers and shakes.
  • MCD may be the latest victims of worsening ties between the U.S. and Russia, and the agency has been known to act in the Kremlin's political interests in times of political tensions with other countries.
  • Russia is one of MCD's key markets outside of the U.S., with ~400 outlets.

This is what you get when you have a "leader" like our Campaigner in Chief. Maybe the King can get his wife to tweet out a red line to Putin.

Obama would love to be admired as the next great communist leader - Mao, Stalin, Kim Jun Il etc.

Obama would love to bring poverty to America and then retire in Hawaii in a 35 million dollar mansion, eating caviar. The man has no soul. He represents the Devil on earth.

400 outlets does not a key market make.

It is not worth it to do business in some places.

There isn't growth in America - too many EBT card holders shopping at discounters, too many people on disability, too many illegals siphoning off your social programs etc.

America is like a swamp that is drying up.

So who is hurting who in this game of sanctions? It should be Europe versus Russia, not U.S. versus Russia. France, Germany, the eastern bloc need to step up and take on the bear. In the meantime, our southern border continues to be flooded with illegal aliens. Who is watching the store, may I ask? Maybe Obama and the boys? Not likely. Maybe the congress? That's a joke. And I should worry about the Ukrane? I don't think so.

The Russians need to sell their gas to somebody. If they don't have the pipeline capacity to send it to China then who will they sell it to. If they can bypass Ukraine via another pipeline route then Kiev might be pretty cold this winter.

So, if governments around the world punish companies for the acts of their respective governments, is government a legitimate and honest player in their home countries?

Government is a ponzi scheme. Government is the mafia. Wake up losers.
