Profit halved at New York Times in Q2

• New York Times (NYT -7%) trades lower after reporting a weak Q2 for print advertising and issuing an outlook for flat circulation sales in Q3.
• Though digital subscribers rose 19% in Q2 to 831K, digital advertising sales were only up $1.4M to $41.5M during the period.
