Report: iPhone 6 may launch in October

MacRumors reports that the iPhone 6 launch date may now have been pushed off to Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) "incredibly busy" month of October - citing a source knowledgeable about an internal Apple Retail Store meeting.

Prior reports suggested that the iPhone 6 would begin selling in September, although it now seems that Apple will only announce the device in September, but will begin selling the iPhone 6 on October 14.

It is still unknown if an October release for the iPhone 6 would include both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch version.

nobody really knows and Apple is good at keeping it a secret.

But it is a great time to buy into Apple stock ahead of this launch if in fact it is slated for Sept/Oct

    Rumour seems like nonsense.

TMobile CEO recently said that iPhone 6 selling in September will be a massive positive for that quarter for TMobile.

I'd believe TMobile CEO more than some rumour from an Apple store service representative. He would have been told about the actual launch by Cook himself.

In addition, didn't Apple send out a memo to all retail staff earlier in the year telling them they cannot take vacations in September 2014?

I recently spoke to managers at our local Apple store and local ATT store. The Apple store manager said he had no idea when the actual releases will be, Apple tells them nothing. We know as muichy as they do and rumors are meaningless.

The ATT manager swore two iPhones were coming out on Sept 19. No confusion for him. He said his staff is already being prepped for the big release.

Recently also another story came out saying iPhones were released on Sept 26.
    One week later.

This entire CNBC article citing a possible delay is based on the exact same type conversation as I had, except with someone who did not say there would be a delay, but said October would be incredibly busy.

In other words this story means and proves absolutely nothing. Nothing can be proven or disproven until Apple does it. That includes the negative rumor about Apple TV being delayed. And the negative rumor about a delay in iWatch. The fact is that all these rumors come from people who may have selfish motives. Or they are people who may be 100% wrong.

Just bought more under 95. If it is false or questionable rumors pulling AAPL down or just general market negative liquidity, whatever the case the stock is a huge bargain here.

Also be aware, every single AUgust for the past five years has been a rally time for AAPL. Every one. July up but choppy. August always up.

AAPL down in August 2010 and 2011. AAPL up in August 2012 and 2013.

I'm out of Apple stock right now, but I find the rumors to be even more stupid now than before, and the willingness of websites willing to propagate these rumors must be super desperate to get clicks.

These rumors are all about "theater" which is common for Apple. It is a page out of Marketing 101. "Hype" is wonderful for product demand and awareness.
