More on Toyota's July U.S. sales

Toyota (NYSE:TM) stayed on top as the leading retail auto seller in the U.S. during July with truck sales strong for both the Toyota and Lexus brands.

New model introductions sold well during the period and the mix shift appears favorable for the Japanese automaker.

Sales by brand: Toyota +10.6% to 188,469; Lexus +18.7% to 27,333.

Sales by model: Corolla +26% to 30,833; Prius -11.2% to 20,675; Camry +14.7% to 39,888; Lexus ES +3.9% to 6,326; RAV4 +37.1% to 26,779.

    Whats the story with slowing Prius sales; anybody heard? One of my lady colleagues took a long trip from Portland, Oregon to Spokane, WA recently and got 51 mpgEq with her Prius. I thought this was astounding.
