Islamic State captures two oil fields, Mosul Dam

Islamic State fighters have taken control of Iraq's biggest dam, two oil fields and three predominantly Kurdish towns in northern Iraq.

Islamic State, previously known as ISIS, captured the electricity-generating Mosul Dam (which could give the ability to flood major Iraqi cities or withhold water from farms) in less than 24 hours,

The Ain Zala and Batma oil fields have a production output of 30,000 barrels per day.

All of those young American lives lost for nothing.

...not to mention the arms, legs and eyes lost for nothing too.

We should NOT have allowed our politicians to talk us into this war.

Why say that "it was for nothing"?

A sovereign state has been attacked; its territory has been invaded; its president has been hung; secterian and ethnic fights have been allowed; the country has been divided into sunni, shiite, and Kurdish regions; Al Qaida and all kinds of mad killers have been given a playground with access later to Syria; Iran has been promoted to a major regional player; millions of innocent locals have been killed, wounded and displaced; national cultural heritage has been destroyed; US contractors have been granted local contracts; and, the world has been rendered a less safer, much less safer place, through the military operation that's been executed by those young men and women who have been sent there by the US Administration.

It is unfair to classify all that under "nothing"

    ...all for nothing.

I feel bad for the parents of U.S. servicemembers sent into that blender and lost.

It wasn't a blender until they've been sent there.

Besides, the man who sent them there has been re-elected the president of the country of the parents of the lost servicemen and women. Obviously America believed then that America and its actions were right, when they were awfully wrong!

All barry had to do was send a few drones into the mix a few weeks back to stem the advance since he couldn't/wouldn't come to terms on a renegotiated status of forces agreement.

    Elections have consequences.

Romney and Clinton ('08) warned us about this.
