J.C. Penney enters Brooklyn

J.C. Penney (NYSE:JCP) announces the opening of its first store in Brooklyn.

The store will give consumers a look at the new JCP model and will have 2.2K square feet devoted to a Sephora shop along with a heightened focus on the brodale and jewelry departments.

"This location displays our commitment to mindful store growth in high potential markets," notes CEO Myron Ullman.

I like Mr. Ullman's way of thinking. I'm on board, and a very happy, regular customer.

We can only hope the Dodgers return to Brooklyn to join JC Penney in the gutsy move.

JCP has spent a lot of money on the new look from the last time with Ron Johnson. There were a huge number of their stores that never got updated that last time. They still have that 1970's look, stale non-moving air, and frumpy salespeople without the time to help you. Greenwood Park Mall, Indiana
