Stocks set for opening gains


S&P 500 (NYSEARCA:SPY), Nasdaq 100 (NASDAQ:QQQ), and DJIA (NYSEARCA:DIA) futures are all higher by about 0.5% as earnings roll in and ahead of retail sales data and two Fed speakers later this morning.

Europe's Stoxx 50 is up 0.9% and Asia posted small gains overnight.

The 10-year Treasury yield is up one basis point to 2.46% and gold is flat at $1,310 per ounce.

    Recent gains have been in unconvincing volume. Before putting more money into the market, I am waiting for volume indications that the big boys are buying. Meanwhile, I have my stop losses in order should the bull run end.
