Market watchers will parse the Fed statement to determine whether the central bank is ready to raise interest rates sooner rather than later; then attention will shift to Yellen’s Friday speech from Jackson Hole.
Shares of Apple are slightly higher premarket after setting a new closing high yesterday, while Lowe’s -3% after lowering its guidance for full-year sales growth, and Target -2% after Q2 earnings missed estimates and a reduced full-year outlook.
Treasurys hold modest losses, with the benchmark 10-year yield higher by one basis point at 2.41%.
