Charter Communications struck by national outage

Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR) confirms it was struck by an Internet outage which has affected customers in various parts of the U.S.

The outage began late Saturday afternoon for an "unknown" reason.

The company has drawn some criticism for not utilizing social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook to disseminate information about the service interruption.
