The FCC has sent a letter (.pdf) to Verizon (VZ) requesting documentation to back up its claim it will run out of spectrum next year unless its deals with several cable providers go through. The letter could be a sign that the FCC isn't thrilled with the deals, considering it once sent a similar letter to AT&T over the T-Mobile deal's supposed job benefits. Sprint (S), T-Mobile, and DirecTV (DTV) staunchly oppose Verizon's deals.
