PepsiCo in the mix to provide school lunches in India

PepsiCo (PEP -0.5%) CEO Indra Nooyi met with government officials in India to discuss developing new food products for school lunches in the nation on the healthier side.

School lunch safety is a major concern in India where some local suppliers have failed to live up to standards.

PepsiCo generates over a $1B in sales a year in India and has big plans in place to expand manufacturing and penetration.

No, you must be thinking of US kids. Probably will be granola, oatmeal, and juice from Quaker Oats.

A cartoon of milk from Pepsi's investment in Russian diary products to go along with some healthy snack food products and some more tasty and caloric rich potato snacks along with some gator aid drinks to help keep electrolytes on a hot day. Get them while they are young and keep them as customers for life with quality products. Nice thing about food and drinks is that people will always need them.

Indra Nooyi the PEP CEO has been pushing the company to develop and market a line of healthier products. This could help boost that effort and the stock price, which is a good thing for my portfolio.
