Danaher names Joyce as President/CEO

Danaher (NYSE:DHR) appoints Thomas Joyce as President and CEO, implementing its succession plan sooner than expected.

DHR initially announced the succession plan in April, indicating that then-CEO Lawrence Culp would retire next March, but Chairman Steven Rales says the transition has proceeded well and the board determined Joyce is ready to take the reins.

Culp, who had been CEO for 13 years and has been with DHR since 1990, will stay on as a senior adviser.
