Cisco's (CSCO) new game plan - the Cisco Unified Computing System - could be as disruptive to data center computing as the iPhone (AAPL) has been to IT shops. Is this the big one?

    Now that Cisco has declared war on IBM and HP servers, the WSJ story on the Sun being bought by IBM could be a play by IBM to: 1) shore up it's data center presence; and 2) prevent the acquisition of Sun by Cisco. Considering the premium, perhaps #2 was a real possibility, and if so, might be a smart play.
