IMAX and Summit Entertainment work out deal for John Wick

• Summit Entertainment (LGF) signs a deal with IMAX (IMAX) to release upcoming film John Wick at IMAX theaters nationally later this month.
• Though the deal could be filed under run-of-the-mill, any agreement between IMAX and a major studio takes on extra significance after IMAX struck an establishment-rattling agreement with Netflix earlier this week.
• Smaller studios could be in the middle of a tug of war between theater operators and the new IMAX/Netflix model over distribution.
