Though worries about soft capex from top U.S. service providers (read: Verizon and AT&T) have softened a bit following encouraging results (I, II, III) from Cisco, Ciena, and Infinera, UBS, which was among the first to notice the weakness, says many telecom equipment companies are still in for a challenging quarter due to slow spending. As a result, UBS is slashing estimates for equipment vendor Adtran (ADTN -0.7%).
