- Entergy (NYSE:ETR +0.7%) agrees to buy the four gas-fired generating units of Union Power Station in Arkansas, one of the largest natural gas-fueled power plants in the U.S., from Entegra for $948M.
- Three ETR subsidiaries will buy the four gas-fired generating units of the 1,980 MW plant near El Dorado, Ark., that entered commercial service in 2003.
- The sale comes just months after Entegra’s plan to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which included cutting $750M of debt from its balance sheet, was approved in court.
