Struggling Panasonic (PC), best known for its electronics gear, is pinning its hopes for a recovery on sales of refrigerators, washing machines, and other home appliances. Price competition in the home appliance market is less fierce than in the TV market, and Panasonic believes it can differentiate itself by adapting its products to local needs. The company has already seen some success in China and other Asian markets.
