After stabilizing for a while, polysilicon prices have fallen in recent days from $26/kg to $22-$25/kg, right around the variable cost breakeven point for Western producers such as MEMC (WFR). The German government's announcement that its solar subsidy cuts may be implemented by month's end is said to be responsible. LDK Solar (LDK) and Yingli (YGE) are two important Chinese polysilicon vendors.
