- After buying out minority holders, Vishay (NYSE:VSH) has finished its $201.3M ($152M net of cash) acquisition of Taiwanese optical sensor maker Capella Microsystems. The deal has been funded through a mixture of cash on hand and $53M in credit facility borrowings.
- Capella makes light, gesture, proximity, UV, and IR sensors (among other things) for products ranging from PCs and phones to electrical appliances and automotive systems. Vishay has argued Capella's products complement its existing visible/infrared component offerings.
