Qualcomm (QCOM +2.6%) outperforms after Morgan Stanley's Ehud Gelblum predicts selling prices for 3G phones, on which Qualcomm collects royalties, will remain strong (previously), as the proliferation of 3G/4G models keeps high-end prices stable. In addition, the spread of 4G devices is lifting Qualcomm's chip prices; the 4G baseband chip found in the new iPad, for example, is believed to cost 50% more than the 3G baseband found in the iPad 2.
