Enbridge (ENB) and Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) are planning separate projects to move as much as 850K barrels of crude oil a day from Canada to refineries along the Gulf Coast by mid-2014. The pipelines will compete with TransCanada's (TRP) troubled Keystone project.

First, thanks for sending me this alert.

How can ENB and EPD build new, functioning " Canada to the Gulf " lines by 2014? Are they actually tying in short new segments to their existing lines , in order to piece together a "Canada to Gulf" line ?

Seems more likely, in light of construction times, regulatory hurdles/delays and large capital costs. Otherwise, don't believe they could meet thrir 2014 timeline.

The mid-2014 date is for the new line from Cushing to the Gulf. The statement above is incorrect because the addition of the Enbridge line from Illinois to Cushing isn't given a time-frame and isn't approved.
