IDT files to enable U.S.-Cuba phone traffic

• Multinational telecom NYSE:IDT reached a deal with Cuba's national company, Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba, to directly exchange U.S.-Cuba long distance phone traffic. The deal's under FCC review for 10 days.
• "This is an important first step in the liberalization of telecommunications between the U.S. and Cuba," says IDT Telecom CEO Bill Pereira.
• With 11.5M people, a liberalized phone market in Cuba could become the largest in the Caribbean as revenues there multiply many times over.
