- Bonuses of $28.5B in 2014 were up 3% from the previous year, according to New York State. The average bonus of $172.86K gained 2%, and bonuses rose even as pretax profits at broker-dealers fell 4.5% to $16B.
- Alongside, Wall Street firms added 2.3K jobs in 2014, up 1.4% from 2013 to 167.8K employees. It's the first industry-wide gain in workers since 2011. The sector remains smaller by more than 20K jobs or 11% than it was prior to the financial crisis.
