Shares of Sherwin-Williams (SHW) move up 2.4% premarket after the company increases its outlook for Q1 EPS to $0.92-$0.95 from prior guidance of $0.56-$0.74 after seeing strong sales for its Paint Stores Group during the quarter.

    This is a surprising PR release. Sherwood-Williams announced that the prior 3 months had much stronger than expected sales (and earnings). I wonder if warm weather could have anything to do with that?

     

    The real surprise is that Sherwin-Williams C-level insiders sold huge percentages of their shares in February and March (over $60 million). Why would any executive dump shares in such volume if he believed last quarter's results (and share price) were a sustainable trend?
