  • Just a couple of weeks after apologizing for interfering with CTV's news operations, Bell Media (NYSE:BCE) President Kevin Crull has abruptly resigned effective immediately.
  • Crull got some parting thanks from BCE CEO George Cope; "However, the independence of Bell Media's news operations is of paramount importance to our company and to all Canadians."
  • Crull had apologized for an "intrusion" where he tried to dictate how CTV covered a decision by Canada's telecoms regulator that was seen as damaging to BCE.
  • BCE has elevated Mary Ann Turcke to replace Crull at the helm of Bell Media. The company also named Blaik Kirby head of Bell Mobility, and Rizwan Jamal head of residential services. Those three will report to Wade Oosterman, named group president of BCE and Bell.
