- HGTV (Home & Garden Television) -- the top earner in the stable of Scripps Networks Interactive (NYSE:SNI), with $231M in Q4 revenues -- is ramping up with 10 new series and another 800 hours of original programming in 2015.
- The network (which finished 2014 with its highest-ever ratings) will add another show with the "Property Brothers," Brother vs. Brother; a show featuring married house flippers Tarek and Chrstina El Moussa (Flip or Flop Follow-Up); Mark & Derek's Excellent Flip, featuring Mark Ballas and Derek Hough from ABC's Dancing with the Stars; and other spinoff shows featuring those stars along with newer fare like Sale of Two Cities (comparing values in two different real estate markets).
- Among SNI's lifestyle brands, the DIY Network is also counting on celebrities with 16 new series, including I Pity the Tool (Mr. T demolishes/renovates homes) and Jim Belushi in Building Belushi, as well as returning shows like The Vanilla Ice Project and Daryl Hall and John Oates in Daryl's Restoration Over-Hall.
- DIY Network revenues climbed 7% Y/Y in Q4, while HGTV revenues were up 4.4%. SNI is expected to report Q1 numbers on May 7.
