- A company that has already seen plenty of C-suite drama is apparently seeing a little more: The Verge and the WSJ report CFO Anthony Noto is taking control of Twitter's (TWTR -1.3%) marketing department (not typically under a CFO's purview) from SVP of product Kevin Weil.
- The Verge states Noto "took over marketing after months of fruitless searching for a chief marketing officer," and observes he's already in charge of corporate development, corporate strategy, and real estate (in addition to finance). "Noto is consolidating power, so to speak," says a source.
- Noto is only 10 months removed from replacing Mike Gupta as Twitter's CFO. Last year also saw COO Ali Rowghani and short-lived product chief Daniel Graf depart. The latest move follows Twitter's Q1 sales miss and full-year guidance cut.
