As the new iPad stokes consumer interest in high-res displays, Intel (INTC) predicts such displays will be common by 2013 not only on mobile devices, but also on ultrabooks, 15" notebooks, and all-in-one desktops, in part thanks to the graphics resizing abilities of Windows 8. Companies selling CPUs (Intel, AMD), graphics processors (AMD, NVDA), and display panels (AUO, LPL) all have an interest in seeing high-res displays proliferate. (also)
