Warren is smart - that is why he already was at the doctor but investors will see this and take it the wrong way - I think the stock is in for a major bump even though his illiness has nothing to do with the health of the companies that he picked for Berkshire -
Warren I wish you a speedy recovery

I agree with montanamark and hope the best for Mr. Buffett...

    ...but...

Mr. Buffett has decided to ride the back of a Tiger. As shill and prime cover for the advanced guard of socialism and a backer of Obama and Obamacare he's setting up a situation where a future Buffett, over 80, will be ineligible for cancer care of this type as it won't be socially beneficial. Worse yet, for fairness and social justice, it will be necessary to outlaw any individual, no matter how wealthy from obtaining their own "private" care and paying for it themselves.

And all this from the people worried about back-alley abortions.

citations, please. show me proof, in the form of a bill or proposed bill, with references to pages, that this wouldn't be covered under obamacare because it's not 'socially beneficial.' also, where did you get the idea that having private healthcare would be outlawed? been listening to sarah palin again, haven't you?

Carousel. I realize there are no citations, proofs or references to the bill now known as Obamacare. For one thing, that was the whole purpose: to ram through legislation that nobody could possibly understand or even read--at least one Supreme Court justice said neither him nor his staff was going to slog through the whole bill--and then, by empowering the Secretary of Health or, let's just be honest, the future Health Tsar, to rule by decree, we could all have "free" health care even if we are no longer free.

Yupper, I'se been a'listnen to the idiot, Sarah Palin. I'ze likes her.

we're getting a bit off topic here, but you started it. so, you admit that you're just spouting talking points that have no basis in fact, yet you still swallow them hook, line, and sinker. i swear, i'll never understand how republicans are able to get people to vote against their own interests, based solely on mentioning boogeymen like socialism and marxism. booga booga, vote republican!

you do realize that there have been government offices with the title 'czar' has been around since the roosevelt administration? it's not something new. bush himself appointed 49, to obama appointing 42. oh noes, that must mean that bush was more communist/socialist/ma... (insert your own scary adjective here) than obama!

tell me, since obamacare would require everyone purchase health insurance from the commercial providers, are you expecting that all of them (United Healthcare, Aetna, BCBS, etc) are going to stop covering prostate cancer treatment? or are you just spewing uninformed nonsense?

Can we leave politics aside for a moment and wish Warren well in his battle? He has always supported this country and humanity, especially through his charity.

My grandfather got prostate cancer when he was in his low 80's and he lived to be 93 and did not die because of the prostate cancer. Warren will be ok, he will outlive the cancer.

Yeah, what the cancer expert told me about my mother was that, paradoxically, the older a person was, the slower cancer, like other cells, grows. Counterintuitive, because you would think cancer would be generally more dangerous to old people. Not so.

So true, just the opposite for these poor 20 year olds that get it.

Warren will beat this just like he does the market.

It must be the idea of paying the Buffet tax....30% on his earnings...that did him in.

He's prolly got his estate sorted out so that there is no estate tax upon his death.

Warren, in spite of of his "i'm just a little country boy" never did anything which didn't benefit Warren. What was the coupon on his Goldman preferred's, and what did the rest of us schmuck taxpayers get? Just one example of Warren looking out for Warren at a time when he could have been benevolent and said it was unfair for him to get more than the average Joe. But he didn't, did he?

it is Warrens job to do whats best for his shareholders, which he has done. I'm pretty sure he's been trying to say that he gets more tax benefits than the average Joe for a long time, but I guess the tax code is unfixable. And his Goldman arrangement benefited shareholders of brk, gs, and I don't know about the taxpayer, but it didn't hurt us.

Thank - you MostSerene1 for the link - Here is another kink from that article:
"Some observers of the case contend that while a law that made insurance the only valid form of medical payment might be permissible under the Commerce Clause, it would still be subject to strong challenge as a violation of an individual’s right to due process."

This is a threat to the Federal Reserve fiat money "This note is legal tender for all debts public and Private" and give the government a whole new "War" on "illegal" medical treatment - - Gosh those back alleys are going to get real crowded!!

Any kind of cancer is life threatening. Different people react in different ways. That being said, God's speed Uncle Warren!
