- Gevo (NASDAQ:GEVO +10.6%) shoots higher after announcing that its patented wood waste derived jet fuel will be used in a first-ever test flight.
- The test flight is part of a partnership with the Department of Agriculture supported Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance, a five-year project striving to facilitate the development of renewable biojet and bioproduct industries using forest residuals that would otherwise become waste products.
- Gevo makes isobutanol fuel from corn at its plant in Minnesota but has developed alternative processes that allow it to make the compound from the wood scraps left over from logging activities.
