- Nielsen (NYSE:NLSN) has hired a banker to explore selling its movie tracking division, National Research Group, Deadline Hollywood reports.
- The 37-year-old Los Angeles-based NRG has had a vital role in testing all aspects of movies, from marketing materials to test screenings.
- Likely suitors for the division are Marketcast, Rentrak, Screen Engine/ASI and PSB Research, Deadline notes. Nielsen would only be looking to sell the NRG film part of the business, including movie tracking around the world and the brand name.
- The company has hired New York bankers Jordan, Edmiston Group to work on a sale.
