  • Telus (NYSE:TU) and Rogers Communications (NYSE:RCI) are both pressing to buy wireless carrier Mobilicity, and in a reversal from form, Canada's government is set to OK a deal with one of them, The Globe and Mail reports.
  • Mobilicity is reported to be close to decision in the coming week for a deal that may exceed C$300M (about $245M).
  • The wireless carrier has been under creditor protection since September 2013, and in one of the deals would need to transfer spectrum to Wind Mobile -- which might favor that deal with a government that had been pressing for greater competition in wireless telecom.
