- Taking to Twitter after an emergency conference call of EU finance ministers, Finland Finance Minister Alexander Stubb says neither an extension of the bailout program nor a haircut are not possible. Any requests on the matter, tweets Stubb, must be dealt with through normal procedures.
- The comments seem to have taken a bit of starch out of a building rally on Wall Street, with the Dow (DIA +0.2%) now up about 25 vs. more than 100 earlier in the afternoon. The S&P 500 (SPY +0.3%) is performing a bit better, but still off the highs.
