- After separating from the print half of Gannett (NYSE:GCI), broadcast media firm TEGNA (NYSE:TGNA) is taking on its first joint project with Debmar-Mercury and testing a one-hour talk show this summer, starring Dallas pastor/entrepreneur T.D. Jakes.
- The show will air on four stations and is the first result of a joint venture that TEGNA formed with Debmar-Mercury to develop and distribute first-run series focused on daytime, early fringe and access periods.
- Showrunners for the new program have experience with a variety of talk shows, including The Ricki Lake Show, Geraldo, Montel, Oprah, Dr. Oz and The Queen Latifah Show.
