WSJ: Cloud IT management software firm Apptio plans IPO

  • Apptio has hired Goldman, JPMorgan, and BofA/Merrill to handle an IPO that could feature a ~$1B valuation, sources tell the WSJ.
  • Apptio provides cloud apps for analyzing, managing, and planning a company's IT spending and related resource utilization. Customers include Cisco, Equifax, Goldman, BofA, Microsoft, Facebook, Starbucks, and Boeing. Cloud IT service management (ITSM) software leader ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW) is a partner.
  • In 2012, the company raised funds at a $600M valuation. Co-founder Kurt Shintaffer was named CFO last month.
