Six Brazil execs get jail time in Petrobras corruption scandal

• Six former executives of a Brazilian construction company were convicted and sentenced today to between 6 and 15 years of jail time for money laundering, corruption and other charges, the first construction industry execs to be sentenced in the price fixing and bribery scandal involving Petrobras (NYSE:PBR).
• In a country where white-collar criminals are rarely punished severely, the sentences mark a new phase in the investigation of inflated contracts at the state-run oil company that began last year.
