Noranda Aluminum soars on purchase order from Chinese smelter

• Noranda Aluminum (NOR +46.5%) skyrockets nearly 50% on news it completed a 31K metric ton shipment of smelter grade alumina from its alumina refinery in Gramercy, La., to an aluminum smelter in China.
• NOR says the shipment is part of a multi-shipment export arrangement at market prices, and marks the first export shipment outside of North America in Gramercy's 58-year history.
