- EE (ORAN +1.5%, OTCQX:DTEGY +1.7%), the leading UK wireless operator in the middle of a takeover by BT Group (BT +1%), will reportedly start offering 4G LTE services via the 800 MHz band by the end of the year.
- The new coverage will complement existing coverage in the 1800 MHz band -- which the provider is going to use to commercially launch voice-over-LTE as well.
- “Our VoLTE service is now live, for a multi-user, multi-device Internal trial,” says Tom Bennett, the carrier's director of network services and devices.
- The company ended Q2 with 10.9M LTE subscribers and aims for 14M by the end of 2015.
