Agreed. What's not to like? They beat on the top and bottom and maintained guidance.

This is a long-term growth story. Seems like "the street" didn't like that commodity costs were up. That's breaking news? The CFO was just on CNBC and stated that they were hedged for the next 18 months on the commodity front and called that concern a "tailwind" in the second half of the year.

Increased my position after-hours by 60% at $58.05.

after hours not really a good way to judge. I've seen a stock fall 5% afterhours after reporting good earnings. Only to rebound 8-10% the next day. Also, I read somewhere that coffee prices expected to drop significantly over the next 12-18 months... can someone confirm this? this would help sbux considerably...

It's currently priced above these growth rates. Still like it, but not at these values.

I believe that we are seeing some investors taking profits, which has pushed SBUX down slightly afterhours.
As an investor in this company, I see no reasons to panic and sell, rather this is a great opportunity to add shares to my position.
While European interests are somewhat slow, entry into China is very exciting, in my opinion. Throw in an agreement with Disney and SBUX is having a pretty good week.

Who's left in this market? All the investor's have left. Only gun-slinging traders whose idea of long term is about 20 minutes.

This is a great question, that is for sure. Don't forget the computer trades that can drive a stock up or down in seconds.

I am left in the market, for better or worse. I have a core of stocks that I hold long and others that are more speculative. There are times that it seems that the deck is stacked against the individual investor, however.

    Have a great evening.

Never fails -- I get in and it starts downturning. I'm a jinx!! :-(

Trying to buy more as it goes down; trust the company will move up again.
