- Speaking to CNBC, the St. Louis Fed President Jim Bullard - one of the leading Fed hawks, and certainly the most vocal one - says he did not support last week's decision not to hike rates (he's not an FOMC voter again until 2016).
- Markets are currently pricing on very little chance of a rate hike next month, but Bullard says there is a possibility. Among the reasons for not pricing in a move is the fact that there is no post-meeting press conference. Bullard says there ought to be press conferences after each meeting to avoid the impression that important decisions can only come at meetings with post-meeting gatherings.
- Most interesting from Bullard this morning: "I have a message for your friend (Jim) Cramer: The Fed cannot permanently raise stock prices ... to have him cheerleading for low interest rates 24 hours a day is unsavory."
