GigOptix takes out Korean fabless semiconductor firm

• Nano cap GigOptix (GIG -1.4%) acquires Seoul, South Korea-based Terasquare, a fabless semiconductor company and provider of low power CMOS high speed communication interface semiconductors for 100 Gbps Ethernet, Fiber Channel and EDR Infiniband applications.
• According to GIG, the buy reflects its long-term aim of being the industry's premier supplier of Datacom high-speed chipset solutions.
• Under the terms of the deal, GIG will pay $4M plus $1.15M in Terasquare debt.
