- Tegna (NYSE:TGNA) affiliates returned to Dish Network (NASDAQ:DISH) lineups Sunday after the two companies reached a multi-year carriage agreement, ending a weekend blackout.
- Some 46 stations had gone dark in 38 markets after a couple of extensions from a Sept. 30 deadline failed to result in a deal. But as often is the case, Sunday football likely played a part in the two coming to a deal, with a number of NFL markets (including Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, St. Louis, Minneapolis and Seattle) among the blacked out.
- Tegna is the largest independent owner of CBS and NBC affiliates, and the fourth-largest owner of ABC affiliates.
